The BD is shorter, with the opening of the curve going to zero more abruptly beyond 15mm from the tip, and it has a stronger curvature just 2-3mm from the tip with the curve flaring more open quite suddenly.The "sounding' notes are also called "concert" pitches. So if your conductor asks you to sound a tuning note concert Bb, you would need to play a C on your Bb clarinet.
